BINAU

(Portugal ◊ 1990)

Born in the early 90s, Binau emerged as a creature driven by the visceral need to express emotions through artistic creation.

His journey began at the Fine Arts University of Porto in Communication Design, a path he eventually left behind to dedicate himself exclusively to his true calling: Illustration and the Visual Arts.

His universe, defined as Trash-Pop, is a vibrant collision of Pop-Surrealism, dystopian imagery, and urban figurative art. In Binau’s world, imperfection is not a flaw but a state of mind. His body of work is populated by deformed characters and mutant beings that cohabit strident, saturated landscapes where colors don’t just exist, they scream.

Rooted in Black Humor and Dadaism, his aesthetic thrives on the absurd, proving that his “mutant” creations can hold their own both in the raw context of urban environments and within the walls of a gallery.
