It was in the early 90's that Binau was born, a creature that had the need to express his emotions through artistic creation.
He started his journey at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and joined the Communication Design course, before realizing that this was not his purpose and decided to dedicate himself exclusively to Illustration and the visual arts.
His universe can be categorized as Trash-Pop, where imperfection is assumed to be a state of mind and colors scream stridently. His work is mainly based on the creation of deformed characters, mutants that cohabit his dystopian landscapes. Black humor and Dadaism are the norm in his work that can be seen not only in an urban context but also hold its own in galleries.

VISIONS Sometimes at night time, when I'm about to sleep and I have my eyes closed, I can see big smiling fat characters in the darkness that turn into crying skinny monsters very quickly. In some moments, I can grab a face or an expression from one of those creatures and draw it. I guess these moments are where creativity gets to me in the most aggressive way.
